Striped Sensation

'Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely
Psalm 147:1'

Oh guys, I know, I know its been quite a while right? Please pardon my absence, have been very busy attending to clients, taking care of my '3' babies lol but I promise it would change. Thanks dearies, so how are you all doing? Hope you are all doing great and oh yes thanks for as many that remembered my birthday and for all your prayers and lovely comments too. I really appreciate it. Love this card my 'Deltan King' got for me and he got me this lovely dress dont worry will wear it soon lol. Thanks my love.

As long as we are alive we learn everyday, for some weeks now I have been learning new things about life and even though sometimes I ask myself some questions why things are happening the way it is, the answer that comes to my mind is 'Learn, and be patient' its kinda hard sometimes but I think am getting there.

Sometimes as human beings we are quick to judge, quick to sentence other people to 'prison' especially when they don't meet our standard, we are quick to point out other peoples faults yet ours stare us right in the face. The Bible said 'judge not so ye wont be judged' first remove the beam in your own eyes so that you can see clearly to remove the log in someone's eyes. You see a single mother and we are quick to say 'she doesnt deserve to live or even a second chance to live' we start analyzing how her life should be, yet you have terminated several pregnancies just cos you werent caught, we are quick to point our corrupt our leaders are yet in your office you cant be trusted with money. Am sure if God should reveal what goes on behind closed doors we would be embarrassed and ashamed of ourselves. Let him that thinketh he stands take heed lest he falls.

For the post of today my 'Deltan Princesses' just had to be featured lol, went for mixed prints again this time spot peplum top from Dorothy Perkins and a striped skirt, went into Debenhams saw it and pictured what and what I would wear with it but first I had to check the price tag lol,  oh and yes I just had to do box braids cos my Deltan King loves it a lot. the last time I did was 3 years ago. Well hope you enjoy the pics and I know they are much just had to cos I loved all of them. Please enjoy.

Face Powder Tips

Hello lovelies, how are you all doing? hope great? You read foundation tips last week, this week its all about our powder.

Face Powder Tips

Now that you’ve applied your foundation, you’ll need to finish it off with face powder to ensure a long-lasting effect. These quick and easy face powder tips will give your skin a satiny finish.

Face powder is the make-up artist's best friend, as it can make your skin look really wonderful and is very versatile in its uses. It gives the skin a glow as well as makes it smooth. It has a lasting effort in comparison to foundations and moisturizers. Selecting the right kind of powder is very vital. You have to pick the right shade of powder to match your skin tone.

Why Use Powder:

Here are four good reasons for putting on that powder.
  1. Powder gives a super-smooth sheen to your skin - with or without foundation.
  2. It sets your foundation, so it stays put and looks good for longer.
  3. Power absorbs oils from your skin, and helps prevent shiny patches appearing.
  4. It helps conceal open pores.

Choosing Your Powder:

You need two types of powder, a loose form at home, and a powder compact for your handbag. Whether you choose loose or pressed really depends on your skin type and the look that you desire. If you are a natural girl who likes a gentle finish, consider loose powder. If you are more active and sporty, the matte look of pressed powder may be ideal for you.

1. Loose Powder:

This gives the best and longest-lasting finish and is the choice of professional make-up artists and models. The best way to apply loose powder is to dust it lightly on to your skin using a large, soft powder brush. Then lightly brush over your face again to dust off the excess. This powder looks natural on the skin, and is good for home application. Many women like using loose powder because it gives the skin a porcelin effect, giving it a flawless effect.

2. Pressed Powder:

Compacts containing pressed powder are ideal for carrying in your make-up bag as they are very quick to use and lightweight. Most come with their own application sponges, but you will find you get a better result if you apply them with a brush. Look for brushes with retraceable heads to carry in your make-up bag. If you do use the sponge, use a light touch and wash it regularly, or you will transfer the oils in your skin on to the powder and get a build-up. Pressed powder is ideal for those who are always busy and don't have much time to groom themselves. Unlike most loose powders, pressed powder is extremely portable and gives the skin a matte finish. It also usually contains a mirror inside of its compact, which is ideal for those with stubborn marks that need touch ups often throughout the day.

3. Powder Shade:

Don't make the mistake of thinking that one shade of powder suits all. Instead, choose one that closely matches your skin-tone for a natural effect. Do this by dusting a little on your jawline, in the same way as you would with foundation. Take time to experiment so you choose the shade that best suits your colouring. Careful application of the right powder as the final finishing and fixing touch should give your skin a soft, glowing and natural feel.

Face Powder Application

Face powder application depends on the type of powder that you are using.
Pressed face powder is applied as follows:
  • Using the puff that comes with the powder, apply a small amount of powder onto the puff.
  • Starting from the forehead, apply the powder in smooth, downward strokes.
  • Apply to the cheeks, chin, nose and neck in the same way, making sure that all areas have been well blended.
Loose face powder is applied in the following way:
  • Tip a large, soft brush into the powder, and tap the excess powder off into the container.
  • Apply small dabs of powder onto the skin just before the foundation has dried.
  • Brush downwards, with the hair direction, starting with your forehead.
  • Apply the powder to your cheeks, chin, nose and then neck area using the same downward brush stroke.
  • The best face powder tip is to follow the general rule of thumb: the dryer your skin, the less powder you use. That means use less if your skin is on the dry side and more if your skin is oilier.

Enjoy the rest of your week beauties

50 Shades of Blue

'A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24'

Happy Fathers Day to you and a very Happy Sunday too. How are you all doing? Hope your weekend went well and you are looking forward to a more productive and blessed week ahead. Thank God for fathers, and yes thank God we have a Father in Him.

Are you a loner, or do you have friends or surrounded with friends, I mean quality friends not quantity, not just friends on your facebook, twitter, instagram, keek etc. Friends that adds value to your life, permit me to use this word, friends that are a plus in your life instead of a minus. I prefer having just 5 friends who are loyal, trustworthy, honest than have 2,000 who are just there. We all need friends, cos God created in man this insatiable quest for us to seek companionship. Thats why He said seek me first and all other things shall be added unto you. God wants you to have friends, yes you were created alone but you need people to brighten up your life. Invest in your friends and make sure they do same too. Even as a married woman my Deltan King is my best friend but I have other close friends too, girlfriends I do things with, chat, hang out and so does he too. We have heard of this saying 'show me your friend and I will tell you who you are' I say show me who you are and I will tell you what kind of friends you are attracting. Choose your friends wisely.

Don't get me wrong pls am not a fan of Chealsea Football Club lol, gone are those days when I liked football not anymore, am still loving my series of monochromatic look, all one colour hence this blue ensemble. Got this dress for a friend/client but when she tried it on it was too short for her well i told her no need to return it to the shop I would try it on and when I did it was a perfect fit lol, trust me I had started putting pieces of what and what I would wear it with in my head and I thought of my turquoise purse which I got from a charity shop for £1 love the vintage look. Had this beautiful beauty delivered to me from Love Label, ankle strap sandals in the in-thing now. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Makeup Wednesday: Foundation Tips

'Boost not thyself of tomorrow for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth Provers 21:1'

Happy Wednesday everyone, how are you all doing? Here we are again another makeup tip.  Foundation is, as the word suggests, the foundation of all the makeup you are going to put on your face. Get it wrong, and like a house, it all falls down around your ears. Well-applied foundation is invisible - all people will notice is your flawless, glowing skin. Badly applied make-up will leave you looking like you are wearing a mask. The good news is that applying foundation is actually easy once you know how.

Apply it only to the areas that need coverage, and make sure you blend well so that the product is not visible on the skin.

Follow these steps to make your foundation application even more flawless.

1. Skin Preparation
Skin that's in tip-top condition provides the best base, so you should cleanse and moisturise your face every morning and night - and, even if you are nearly too tired to lift your toothbrush, remove all make-up before bed. Not everyone needs to use toner or a night moisturiser but try to exfoliate at least once a week. It will help lift away the dead skin cells so the fresh, new ones can come to the surface.

2. Foundation Primers
If you find that your favourite foundation slips down your face by the morning coffee break, a primer can help. Primers are a relatively recent invention and are designed to hold the make-up in place. They come in a light gel or cream, which you apply after moisturiser and before foundation.
Some primers improve the appearance of the skin by using ingredients to blur fine lines, or by tackling problems like shininess. Others protect the skin from the damaging effects of the environment with SPFs.

3. Colour-Correcting Primers
Don't be put off by the Incredible-Hulk green of these primers - they are fantastic for women prone to flushed cheeks and redness because the green of the cream cancels out the red of the skin. Colour-correcting primers can also help with age spots, and with lightening or evening out mottled skin.

4. Foundation Brushes
Some women love the feel of a foundation brush and it will give you a full cover of make-up if you require a more thorough finish. Experts will tell you that using a brush also uses much less product. However, a lot of people prefer to use their fingers as they have better control and the heat from your digits helps set the foundation (and you won't have to carry a brush around).
Fans of solid cream foundations, which come in compacts or in stick form, often favour the sponge, which if used damp can give a lighter, more even coverage.

  • Always test your foundation colour in natural daylight where possible.
  • Test foundation on your jawline not on the back of your hands. Your hands are usually a little darker than your face. Alternatively, use the inside of your arms where the skin is usually lighter and a closer match to your face.
  • Do not get pressured into buying a colour or foundation type just because the sales assistant said it suited you. Test run it out in natural light and if you can’t, make sure YOU are happy with it as a match or with its texture.
  • Where possible get the best match for your skin tone. This means that the colour when applied on your skin melts into your skin and you cannot tell where your skin ends and where the foundation begins. Foundation is not meant to cover or conceal. It is a means to evening out the colour tone of your face. A good foundation with good coverage will never look cakey or thick, but will look natural on your skin.
  • Never get a foundation colour that is lighter than your skintone, hoping to make yourself look fairer than you actually are. A colour that is too light will cause your skin to look ashy and grey. Not a pleasant sight.
  • If you want to look a little tanned, get a foundation shade that’s a little darker than your skintone. Make sure that you apply it on your neck as well or you will end up looking very strange.
  • If you bought a liquid foundation color in summer when tanned and find that its too dark for you in winter, try mixing in some moisturiser or sunscreen to lighten it. You need sunscreen in winter too.
  • If you have a powder foundation that is a little dark for you, apply it with a large powder brush or kabuki brush. It will cause the powder to go on more sheer and you don’t have to toss your foundation.
