Makeup Wednesday: How to Apply Lipstick

Hello lovelies hope you week is going on fine well mine is and expecting more from it too. I decided to bring to you my lovelies this new segment which is titled 'Makeup Wednesday' so I would be blogging anything and everything makeup every wednesday. Hope you enjoy it.

Nothing says glamour like a swish of lipstick. It's convenient, cheap and with a bit of practice you don't even need a mirror to put it on. Here's 4Beauty's guide to applying lipstick, and how to find the right kind for your needs.
  • Apply your lipstick well and you shouldn't need many touch-ups during the day. Try regularly exfoliating your lips and keeping them moisturised - this will help to create a smooth finish.
  • Whether you're using a lip brush or applying straight from the stick, it is recommends that you "apply an even layer over the entire lip, starting at one corner of the mouth, and keeping within the natural lines of the lips."
  • Use a lip brush to line the lips with lipstick. "Always apply the colour to the corners on both top and bottom lips. Then fill in the bottom lip and any missed areas before pressing your lips together to evenly distribute the colour."
  • Blot your lips on a piece of tissue to soak up excess product and help to set the stain.
  • For a really intense, long-lasting pout, repeat the process once or twice to build up a strong colour.

Lip Brushes
Using a lip brush is cost-effective as you use less product each time you apply it and can use the brush to get right to the bottom of the tube for that last bit of colour. Professional make-up artists prefer brushes because they give them more control over the lipstick, and it will last longer on your lips. Brushes also make it easier to blend lipstick into your lipliner.

Lip Liners
Lining the lips gives you the chance to cheat a bit with the shape of your mouth: you can even out lopsided lips or carefully draw them slightly fuller. Use a lip liner the same shade as your natural lip colour. Many make-up artists use lip liner to help lipstick last a long time: colour in your lips with the lip liner to create a base for lipstick to cling to.

Types of Lipstick: What's Right for You?

How to choose your lipstick depends on which finish you fancy, and, crucially, how dry your lips are. After all, you don't want to be splitting your lips every time you crack a smile.

Matte Lipstick
Matte lipstick offers bold, flat, gloss-free colour and should not be attempted by the faint of heart or dry of lip! It contains more pigment and fewer emollients than other lipsticks so dehydrated lips will stay dehydrated - but it does last a lot longer. Matte lipstick is a favourite with fans of the retro look.

Sheer Lipstick
Sheer lipsticks are great for anyone prone to dry lips (as they contain a high proportion of oil) and for women who like a natural look. Even shades that look dark or bright in the tube will translate into barely-there on the lips.

Creme Lipstick
This type of lipstick has the intense colour of a matte but with a more forgiving texture and less flat finish. It can still be too dry for women with dry lips, but it lasts well.

Satin and Moisturising Lipstick
These lipsticks contain more oils than their cream equivalents (as well as additional moisturisers, such as Vitamin E) but the colour is not as strong on the lips and they need to be re-applied regularly. They're the ideal choice for anyone with dry lips - the glossier the lipstick the more moisturising and comfortable it's likely to be.

Lip Tint and Lip Stains
Lip tints and stains are liquids that drench lips in colour but don't contain wax. They are often used with gloss on drier lips.

Ethical Lipstick
One of the main ingredients of most lipsticks (especially very red ones) is carmine - which is principally made from a species of insect found in South America and parts of Mexico. You'll find it labelled as CI-75470 on your packaging.

All Things Bright And Beautiful

'He hath made everything beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end' Ecclesiastes 3:11

Hello everyone and Happy Mother's day to you. Motherhood is a thing of joy and I believe every girl or woman is a potential mother even if you are married or not. Do you remember that song 'All things bright and beautiful all creatures great and small, all things bright and wonderful the Lord God made them all. He created all things and made it beautiful so dearies you are beautiful dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

Weather forecast predicted snow on sunday and true to their words it did snow wished it was more though lol.  Now to my outfit of today, I wanted to go for a chic look not too over the top something comfy and I picked this lovely chunky knit neon yellow jumper from Tescos(F&F Clothing) it had my name written all over it and this lovely coral blazer from H&M. SEEING BLACK AND WHITE

Hey everyone. Do you think opposites attract? Or do your eyes glaze over and think ‘boring’ when you see monochromatic black and white? If so, think again.  Black and White is more than just an enduring, season-in, season-out trend, it’s also a palate cleanser of the highest order. T The Black and White Monochrome look is also one of the few real trends in women’s fashion. Monochrome is one of the simplest, most chic of looks to work whatever the year and never fails to gain attention when done well. Bright whites tempered with inky blacks can be used to create a truly bold statement. The fact that you probably already have a few black and white items hanging in your wardrobe makes a monochromatic look possibly one of the easiest summer trends to execute. The black and white trend is also the perfect opposite to the many feminine and colorful trends featured this season. Using black and white will help create an almost sculptured look, and definitely draw attention to you!

Black and White Monochrome is likewise easy—and ideal–for creating a fairly effortless travel wardrobe. This dark against light, black with white monochrome fashion look is classic, and the perfect choice right now for anyone with a financially critical wardrobe budget. Monochrome is capsule dressing and will stretch that tight budget. Long after all the colored garments from the past two seasons have faded into fashion’s oblivion, you will still be able to wear monochrome classics that stand the test of time.

So, how does one wear the monochromatic black and white look? First, you must decide how much of each color you want to incorporate into your outfits. Are you going 50/50? Or are you leaning more towards the dark side? Or maybe mainly white is the right look for you? As with every trend in fashion, it’s really up to you on how you interpret and translate it into your personal style.

With the black & white trend, you can work the look with blocks of monochromatic color, say a white skirt with a column of tiny black boxes along the hemline. Or maybe a black top with a trio of thin white lines down the shoulders of the sleeves and/or going down the back of the spine. Or you can try black and white patterned items. This is where a black and white Chevron print skirt paired with a white top would work. It does brings to mind a Catholic School girl uniform but then again, the classics will never go out of style, no matter the origin.

For a second look, play with volume and proportions. If you have a fitted white shirt, you can pair it with black skinny jeans and/or leggings. You can turn the look around by swapping out the skinny pant with a wide leg trousers. Taking it a bit further, swap out your form-fitting top for a looser style but keep the skinny legging. Or, turn the entire outfit into an evening attire by pairing the wide leg trousers with a top that is a hybrid of the fitted top and its looser cousin, thus creating an outfit that is charity ball-ready.

How does one accessorize a monochromatic black and white outfit? Well, it all depends on what the occasion is, the combination of black and white you are wearing and how bold you want to be. If it’s a white shirt paired with a black ballgown, then it’s easy: I would recommend a pair of gold earrings (nothing too flashy or oversized, smaller is better here), a gold evening watch and/or bracelet (again, keep it clean and classy, small is always better). Add a discreet gold necklace and you are good to go. If you do not like gold jewelry, then pair your outfit with silver, platinum or dark bronze. The point here is to always look classy in an understatedly sophisticated manner.

GREEN WITH ENVY

'For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life John 3:16 '

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday too church today was awesome it was our monthly thanksgiving service and I had every reason to thank God for all His blessings and mercies towards me and my family. Last week was a bit tough but through it all I came out strong and victorious.

I drew inspiration for todays outfit from the above bible verse in the Bible hence the tag 'Green with Envy' I love the colour green cos it connotes life and how beautiful it is when one lives it to the glory of God.  Received some bad news of a friend of mine who died, I was sad cos she was dear to me and it really made me reflect on the things that are important in life and that is to do good  and be good to yourself, your family, others and to God.

Walked into thrift shop and the first thing that caught my attention was this gorgeous vintage green pleated skirt, I picked it up and held unto it and it turned out that the size was a UK12, I normally wear a size UK10 I thought to myself oh well I might as well try it on first and see, quickly went to the fitting room and voila it was my perfect size. I love pleats and also the colour oh and not forgetting the gold chain detail in front of the skirt and also slit in front and at the back too. I paired it with my blue platform shoes, bauble necklace (green too) you know to give it that sweet colour block theme. Hope you enjoy the pics.
